Carrie's Chronicles Takes on Style Con!

When I first launched my blog, I never imagined to what extent it would grow. I have always been a writer with a passion for fashion, and this was simply an outlet for me to do what I love most. But recently, I realized that Carrie’s Chronicles could be so much more than that; I want it to be a style empowerment website where readers can stay true to their own unique taste and express themselves through their outfits. It’s not about following the trends exactly how you see them on the runway, it’s about how you put your own spin on them. I used to be teased at school for my bright, bold fashion statements, but now I understand that those choices are what make me unique--I’m proud of my individuality.

After I had this epiphany, I wanted to reach a larger audience and empower them to hear my blog’s message--and what better way to do so than becoming a sponsor of Style Con? Style Con is an event that brings together influencers and fashion enthusiasts to explore new brands and listen to inspiring panels throughout the day. This month’s gathering took place at Root Studios in Downtown Manhattan, with companies’ booths encircling the space.

Carrie’s Chronicles had its own booth, adorned with enormous posters, collages of my Instagram photos, and pics of celebs who support the website (Lucy Hale, Storm Reid, Bethany Mota, and more!). Throughout the day, my team--dressed in hats and tees with the blog logo on them--was a godsend, ushering people to our station and helping me inspire as many people as possible.

The highlight of my booth was the prize wheel...by a landslide. Attendees eagerly lined up to spin and win one of the following prizes from sponsors of Carrie’s Chronicles: Rodan + Fields ESSENTIALS Lip Shields SPF 25, Townley Girl Diamond Pen, Junkless Chewy Granola Bar, Georgetown Cupcake, Ulta Beauty product, Bliss Spa product, Bra Bar Bralette, Sally Hansen Nail Polish, a copy of one of my books (Peace, Love, and Cupcakes or Ask Emma), Dermal Sheet Mask, and Treo Birch Water Infusion.

A few celebs even stopped by our booth to learn more about my brand, including Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin, Austin and Ally star Hannah Kat Jones, former Creative Director on America’s Next Top Model Jay Manuel, Senegalese supermodel Khoudia Diop, and Tinkerbelle the Dog!

I could not be happier about the success of Carrie’s Chronicles at Style Con. The response from people regarding my mission to empower people to fearlessly express their personal style was humbling. There was one particular piece of advice I gave to everyone who stopped by, regardless of their age. Take it from me: Never let anyone tell you how to do you. Fashion is just one way that Carrie’s Chronicles can help you embrace your individuality and be proud of it. Own who you are--there’s nothing more beautiful than that.
