Brooks Brothers x St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Holiday Event
Although it’s fun to go holiday shopping, giving back to a good cause through your purchase makes the experience all the more special. Clothing brand Brooks Brothers decided to add a touch of philanthropy to their signature American style pieces this holiday season with an event in the spirit of Christmas. Ten percent of net sales from the party—which took place at the company’s 44th Street location—went to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization “leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.”
As attendees shopped the brand’s holiday gift selection, Shirley Temples and apple juice with swirly straws were passed around on platters, as well as an array of mini finger foods: crab cakes, pigs in a blanket, pizza, brownies, and reindeer Rice Krispie treats.
Throughout the evening, on the main floor of the store, there were a variety of performances from the cast of Broadway’s Mean Girls and Pretty Woman. Additionally, The Boys and Girls Choir of Harlem Alumni Ensemble did a mashup of holiday tunes such as “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Santa Baby,” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
The second floor of the event featured The Red Fleece (Cocoa) Cafe, complete with a table of hot chocolate and candy. Guests could even top the signature holiday drink with a Brooks Brothers monogram marshmallow.
The St. Jude Cookie Donation Station accepted $5 donations for a Brooks Brothers cookie, while Santa’s Cookie Corner handed out balloon animals gratis.
Children in attendance enjoyed both the DIY holiday ornament station and make-your-own cookie station, where they could adorn Christmas trees and snowmen with candy, sprinkles, frosting, and more. But the highlight for youngsters, by far, was Santa Claus himself, who snapped pictures with guests in front of a display of trees and gifts.
The Brooks Brothers x St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital holiday event was bursting with holiday cheer, no matter where you turned. Even if you did not attend the festivities, you can still support the partnership; for every online purchase of select items such as ornaments, ties, and teddy bears, Brooks Brothers will make a $5 donation to St. Jude. It’s not a holiday without the spirit of giving, so lead with your heart and shop for a cause.
