Rising Pop Star Alli Haber’s Voice Comes “Alive”

Boston-based musician Alli Haber has had a whirlwind of a year when it comes to her career. After kicking off 2019 by taking the First Night Boston NBC10 stage on New Year’s Eve, she released her first original tune, “Too Young” (co-written and produced by the youngest Jonas Brother, Frankie Jonas), and performed on the Northeast leg of the Boys of Summer Tour with fellow artists Zoe Laverne, Dylan Hartman, Andre Swilley, and more. Most recently, Haber released a song, “Alive,” with SRG/ILS, Caroline Records, and Universal Music Group. Below, the teen shares the inspiration behind her latest single and what it felt like to debut the melody in front of hundreds of fans on tour.

Who/what inspired your new single “Alive?”

My new single “Alive” was inspired by the daily routines that we all fall into throughout our lives and the need for more. I wrote it during a time when I would wake up, go to school, and come home, and I felt like I was missing out on so much that life has to offer. The song is about wanting something thrilling and exciting at all times in our lives, which I think most people can relate to.

How would you describe your sound?

My music is mainly pop/R&B. Some artists who influence my sound are Khalid, Ariana Grande, and Bazzi.

What was the production process like for “Alive” from start to finish?

Production for any song is always a really fun, creative process! We actually wrote and recorded “Alive” from start to finish in four days because it came so naturally. The producer, Jason Strong, is so good! There’ll definitely be more music produced by him coming out soon.

How does it differ from previous songs you’ve released?

This song feels different than my last release because the vibe and sound are so much more like who I am today as an artist.

What has the response from fans been like to the single, particularly when you performed it on the Boys of Summer Tour?

The Boys of Summer Tour was such an amazing experience. Performing and meeting the fans was incredible, and the response to “Alive” was really positive. It was my favorite part of my set because the energy was crazy!

What kind of music do you plan on releasing in the future?

I have a lot of new vibes and sounds that I’m working on. I have a new song that’ll be released this fall, and I'll also be back in the studio in L.A. in a couple of months working on some new music. I'm super excited to share all of this very soon!

“Alive” is now available on all platforms.
